9 day old Delilah {Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer}

I know I'm on vaca this month, but bffs still get squeezed in lol! I did my friend's maternity session just 2 weeks ago, 4 days later her Thanksgiving bundle arrived! Here are a few favs of sweet baby Delilah, born at almost 38 weeks, and joyfully didn't need the NICU like 2 of her older brothers. Congrats Rebekah and Josh, you know she's beautiful! :o)

8 day old newborn ~ Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

This little girl had a rough start in the hospital, but is home now, happy and healthy! She wanted to stay awake and party with us, but eventually was all partied out and let us do our thing. Her parents are such a great couple and now wonderful parents to his sweet baby girl. Congratulations E & D, hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

11 day old baby C

This little girl was determined to hang out with us today, fought sleep every step of the way, but eventually we won and she slipped into her sweet dreams. I had a great time chatting with new mom & dad while we waited her out, thanks for the coat info too, that was so nice of you! Congrats, she's a doll!

10 day old twin girls, K&K

These girls were so sweet, very easy going, napping nicely throughout the session. And even though they napped at opposite times, we were still able to get some great images. Thanks mom for all the help, your girls are just beautiful!

4 days new [Northern Virginia newborn photographer]

8 days ago I did a maternity session and said "see you in a month!". Four days later, baby T decided to make his super early arrival so today I was back for more! I loved photographing this four-day-old 5 pound peanut, he was so easy to settle and so sweet! Congratulations C family!!!

As always I love the serious ones (ps look at those wrinkles ahhh soooo sweet!)

Late but worth it [Northern Virginia newborn photographer]

This little guy came late and kept bumping his photography session, didn't he realize how important his first modeling gig was?? He was so sweet and seemed to look for the shutter click! Congrats C & J, he was worth the wait!

6 day old baby "M" [Northern Virginia newborn photographer]

What a refreshing session, I love being around proud new parents! These clients from this maternity session are so in love with their new addition and are just laid back and fun! He's beautiful and was the perfect little "model" M & M, congratulations!

This little guy gave me my newborn fix, he did all of my favorite things, the little grunts and sounds, the little "O" with his mouth, so sweet! He also has the most gorgeous hair & lips! Mom & Dad (& Grandma) were so easy-going and we had alot of fun. Congrats E & C, he's perfect!

3 weeks early [norther virginia newborn photographer]

This adorable little guy arrived early and is doing wonderful. He's 9 days old and is happy as a clam, just feed him and he's content dozing off or staring around. He loved the sound of the shutter which gave me some great chances to get him staring at me! Congrats "L" family, he's just so stinkin' cute and sweet!

I'm using my 2 weeks off (not really 2 weeks b/c one of my newborns came early) to catch up on a zillion things and as I was working on an order today I was enjoying the flakiness of newborn skin, which I absolutely love. It's one of the things that just melts my heart, I love the flaky skin, the umbilical stumps, the curliness of their little bodies, the jagged nails, the tiny hairs on their skin, it's all just amazing to me and defines "new" and "miracle and "blessing". Just look at that foot!

So squishy!

So I'm burning the midnight oil tonight (and all week) working on many sessions and orders and I came across this one tonight while proofing this newborn session. I thought I'd take a quick break and post it because I just LOVE it. Love how bendy and squishy newborns are, I can just picture him in the womb like this!

This little girl was such an easy baby, even tolerated a few poses with the family dog! Thanks S family, and congratulations, she's beautiful!

Gorgeous baby boy

This little guy arrived 3 weeks early, gave his mama an easy delivery, and is just soooo sweet and laid back. Other than wanting a few snacks, he just let us work our ideas, watched us for a bit and then passed out for a nap. Congrats again N & J, he's so beautiful! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Saw a similar hat on a fellow photographer's baby and had to have the little bear one for my newborns. I usually knit my own stuff but have been too busy lately. What a sweet little bear!

10 days old

This little girl took a long time coming into this world, but what a payoff, she's such a sweetie! She tried to stay awake for the party, but didn't cry at all and took a few catnaps for us! It was nice finally meeting you guys K, thanks for having me into your home!

7 days old

Ahh my favorite subjects, sweet little newborns, just days after entering the world, each one is just so precious... This little guy is the new arrival of my 39 week maternity session featured below. He's a dream baby, sleeping soundly while we moved him all around. 18 month old big sis is adorable too, saying "baby!" each morning when she wakes up! Congratulations H family!!

Little Miss "C"

I've been waiting to meet this sweet little girl since her mama's maternity session. She's only 7 days old and already not wanting to miss a thing so she was awake and alert most of the session! Thanks M and E! Hope you napped when she did today!

Adorable Family

I spent my morning with the "K" family, newly a family of 3! There's just something magical about witnessing the amazing love that new parents have for their baby; I love being a part of that! This little guy was just (yes I have to use the infamous word for irresitible babes) so smushy! I enjoyed all of the awake moments too! Thanks for having me over S & J!
