New blog and new website!!

As 2008 draws to a close, I'm happy to say that after 2 days of locking myself in my office, my new blog and new website (a second site devoted to NEWBORNS only, my main website will still be active as well) are LIVE! They are imperfect and will get some tweaking in the weeks to come, but I'm just happy to have met my goal of having them live by Wednesday! And I can't lock myself in the office anymore this week so improvements will have to wait! So check them out, bookmark them, and never come here again, hee hee. Well unless you want to look up an old session I guess?

Changes are on the horizon!

So in keeping up with blogging at least once a week during my time off, I thought I'd write about some changes that are happening here at BabySnap this month and into 2009! First of all, this is one of the last posts you'll read on this here ol' blog! I've upgraded to a brand spankin' new, shiny, fresh, clean, fancy blog! It will house HUGE images, which I love most of all! As soon as I get it up and running, I'll post the new link and you guys can change the link in your blog readers!

Other exciting news: I will be launching a new website, nope it's not replacing the current BabySnap website, it will be *in addition* to it and will focus on a particular specialty. More details to come soon!

And lastly, I'll be bringing in the new year with some new pricing, new exciting products, and a new collection!

I cant believe how fast December is flying by! I've been busy ordering, packaging, mailing, and delivering! Soon enough though I'll be moving on to baking and shopping, I love the holidays! 9 day old Delilah {Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer}

I know I'm on vaca this month, but bffs still get squeezed in lol! I did my friend's maternity session just 2 weeks ago, 4 days later her Thanksgiving bundle arrived! Here are a few favs of sweet baby Delilah, born at almost 38 weeks, and joyfully didn't need the NICU like 2 of her older brothers. Congrats Rebekah and Josh, you know she's beautiful! :o)

I'm still here, I'm still here! {Northern Virginia Baby Photographer}

So I figure this month I'll just post random images, favorites from client sessions that I come across while placing orders and archiving, or even some of my own kiddos. I'm not truly into my month off yet, as I still have one client session to proof (if you're reading this, it's you Ashley!) and several orders to place, but it's still nice to spend my weekends with the fam! I thought I'd bring in December with this little Santa's helper, isn't she a doll?

Thankful

I'm late doing a T-Day post but wanted to still say how incredibly thankful I am for all of the blessings in my life. I never take for granted all that I have, I'm thankful each day for how rich and fullfilling my life is. There are 6 reasons I am most thankful, 6 reasons I get out of bed on days when I'm tired, 6 reasons I work hard everyday, and look forward to each new experience. The first of the six is my amazing husband, I hit the jackpot when he fell in love with me, he's the most supportive husband and an incredible father. The other 5 changed me forever, are my full-time job, bring me so much joy, and are here in this snap:

Downtown maternity {Northern Virginia Maternity Photographer}

So I wrapped up my 2008 client calendar doing a maternity session for one of my BFFs in downtown Fredericksburg. She's over 37 weeks now and we had to wait this long for her to be round enough! We had a great time exploring and they are the perfect couple to venture out with; totally in love and alot of fun (i.e. crazy) LOL! Needless to say, there were no serious "kiss the belly" poses- just a lot of laughs! It's been ages since I did a session with friends, and it was the perfect way to end my last official work weekend (I still have her newborn session in Dec)! I can't wait to meet you Delilah!!

Little A was such a good sport, loved being outside despite the cold, and just happy to play! I love lifestyle sessions, while there is a place for posing and backdrops, I just love capturing kids in their environment, being themselves! Thanks for having me over R family, enjoy your peek!

These 3 cute kids were such good sports as we tried to carry out a beachy vision today, braving the 50 degree winds! I didn't hear one complaint and I swear my kids would've whined me to death! What a fun, laid-back family! Hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek and we'll chat soon!

This little girl had a rough start in the hospital, but is home now, happy and healthy! She wanted to stay awake and party with us, but eventually was all partied out and let us do our thing. to all of my clients for being so patient! After my computer (operating system) crashed and my computer spent 3 days with the Geek Squad, I've been struggling to catch up ever since. Trust me when I tell you I'm staying up late (1-2am eek!) every night to get everything completed! Not every gallery/order is late, but for those of you who have patiently waited a few extra days, I'll be including a small "thank you" gift with your order! I'm a very timely person- running behind schedule is stressful for me so I appreciate that my clients are so understanding!! :o)

This little girl was determined to hang out with us today, fought sleep every step of the way, but eventually we won and she slipped into her sweet dreams. These girls were so sweet, very easy going, napping nicely throughout the session. And even though they napped at opposite times, we were still able to get some great images. Thanks mom for all the help, your girls are just beautiful!

What an adorable set of identical twins! I had fun spending the morning with this family, I even got to eat a pretend chocolate chip cookie! It ended up being too cold to spend much time outside (wasn't it just hot a few days ago??) so we just played around inside. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek S family!

the babysnap 2008 calendar is almost full! whoa!

So BabySnap is booked now through the end of 2008 other than a possible "squeeze in" here or there (email me if you want to be squeezed). The last weekend session was filled tonight! As always I save some weekday availability for newborns so if you are expecting your new babe in the next 2 months, please call me asap and I'll get you in. I also know some amazing photographers so if we can't figure something out for family sessions etc, I can sure refer you to someone great!

8 days ago I did a maternity session and said "see you in a month!". Four days later, baby T decided to make his super early arrival so today I was back for more! I loved photographing this four-day-old 5 pound peanut, he was so easy to settle and so sweet! Congratulations C family!!!
